John Ernest White was born at 2211 F Street, NW, in Washington, D.C., on 16 Feb. 1875. His father, John (born Johan), and his mother, Charlotte, came to the U.S. from Sweden and operated "John White?s Livery Stables" from the property. John Ernest White married Maria Theresa Riedl (d. 1932) in 1915 and had two children, Dorothy Marie White and John Edward White.
